CR2 Signs “Global Industry Statement on the WTO Moratorium on Customs Duties on Electronic Transmissions.”

The Coalition to Reduce Cyber Risk (CR2) is one of over 170 global business associations to sign on to an international industry statement calling on the World Trade Organization (WTO) to renew the WTO Moratorium on Customs Duties on Electronic Transmissions at the WTO’s upcoming 13th Ministerial Conference, taking place in Abu Dhabi, UAE beginning on February 26, 2024.

The Global Industry Statement highlights that allowing the Moratorium to expire would be a historic setback for the WTO, representing an unprecedented termination of a multilateral agreement in place since 1998, which is more critical than ever at a time of unprecedented digital transformation.

The full statement can be viewed on the International Chamber of Commerce’s website.
